The first in a series of the ever-popular and very successful Legend Of Zelda series, it broke new ground in RPG-style gaming. Puzzles all about. Action. Adventure. And wise old men whom which we could never understand. We first find this funny character telling us how dangerous it is outside, considering our chubby pal, Link, or whatever you named him when you started the game, wandered into this cave from "outside". Note that there are no actual buildings in the game, but many caves. And some of these old guys tell you to pay for a door repair charge when you bomb a hole in a mountainside. What door? I just blew a hole in a piece of rock. Yet, elf guy Link is nice to this guy because 1) He looks like the guy that gave him his first sword; 2) He looks like the guy that hangs out at the dungeons spouting words of wisdom like "EYES OF SKULL HAS SECRET." or "DODONGO DISLIKES SMOKE."; and 3) Because the game makes you pay him the money.
Everything in this game is in an overhead perspective. In some dungeons, though, when going through secret passages, it will be in a side view that looks exactly like the overhead view. Enemies tend to want to kill you, as do most outside dangerous creatures the old man you first meet tells you about. Kill them using your sword. It sounds complicated, but it works, just like the old man in the beginning of the game told you with those words of wisdom "IT'S DANGEROUS TO GO ALONE! TAKE THIS."
Money becomes an important asset in your quest that the old man told you about. You know, the part about the "...DANGEROUS..." So what you do is kill enemies to earn cash. Sound familiar? Of course not! It's a brand new concept. Money is need badly when you run into evil looking shopkeepers who live in caves. They practically yell at you to buy something. Then once you do, they run away. Then you leave and re-enter and they re-appear, ready to take more money. In fact, some of the old guys in caves say "LETS PLAY MONEY MAKING GAME." with three Rupees in front of him with a "-10" on them. You choose one and quickly realize that you, an little fat elf, have just commited an act no minor is allowed to do: GAMBLING! See how evil those old men can be? Think of what else they can do when they say "LETS PLAY BORROW HIS CAR." or "LETS PLAY ROOT BEER STORE HEIST."
So what is your quest? First off, don't trust old men too much. Now that we have that out of the way, you are to rescue Princess Zelda from the evil clutches of Ganon by finding the missing pieces of the Triforce to enter his lair. The old man tries to help and the shopkeeper tries to take your cash, and there's a Moblin that says "GRUMBLE, GRUMBLE..." when he wants food, so keep notes when you meet up with these zany characters. Link needs all the help he can get when "IT'S DANGEROUS TO GO ALONE!" Ratings| Graphics: 3.5 / 5.0 |

Graphics: They are quite simple, but you can get lost in some of the outside areas when you can't tell where you are. Sound: The music and sound in this game are similar to the ones in most of the newer Legend of Zelda games, so that's a plus to most who haven't played this before. Control: Too easy. "A" to attack with your sword; "B" to use your current item. Start to open the subscreen menu where all your items and Triforce pieces are listed. Select pauses. The downer to this is the instant save feature, which requires the need for the 2nd player controller to be plugged in. While in the subscreen, hold up and press A on the second controller. It's kind of annoying, because they could have made the select button on the first controller the instant save. Fun: Whether you're solving a puzzle, playing the Second Quest, or hitting the old man in the head with your sword, hours of endless adventure happen.
