The Politics Of Mercury

Unless your computer has been stuck on the tree-hugger websites, I am Conservative. Not Republican, as many bleeding hearts might pin that stereotype on everything, but Conservative. I can go any Right way, be it Republican, Reform, hey, I'll even go Libertarian. Fascism just sucks, so keep me away from that area of that so-called "right-wing". Why, then, must I write an article about politics? Because half of your NES sites blatantly show their political bias every chance they get.

The two NES sites that portray this the most would be NES Vortex and Loogslair.com. I respect both sites and both site owners, although I have never had the chance to contact any of them before. BPZ, the site owner of NES Vortex, is a Liberal, or Democrat. They like those nice things such as government control of everything, welfare, rainforest saving, tax increases, and all that stuff Jimmy Carter almost ruined the country with. Loogaroo, of Loogslair.com, is Conservative, or if you want to be picky, majorly Republican. They like to give big business a boost, dump arsenic in the water, steal from the homeless, spend tons on the military, and giving a new Lexus to every millionaire.

Okay, I'm done bashing both. Let's get down to business. My views on everything revolve around one thing: money. "How much will it cost me, the individual?" That's my preference for most things. Therefore, I hate taxes, welfare, and overspending on programs that the private sector can do more efficiently. However, my views also reflect those of every honest working individual out there, busting their butts to feed their family. Therefore, I also believe in small business, industrial America, tariffs on imported goods, and government programs that will actually help people get jobs, not help them get a welfare check. Simply put, I believe in small government and small business. And the "race" issue? Hey, I'm half "white" and half Filipino. I look white, though my ethnicity dates back to a minority. Since in this day and age no race is "pure", I've come to the belief that race is no factor in anything. Equality is UNDER THE LAW. There is no economic equality, and no two people think, look, and act EXACTLY alike. So when I use the term "equality", I mean that the laws that govern me should be executed the same way as every individuals.

Okay, I've got all of that crap out of the way. Time for business. Although I can't assume what most gamer's political affiliations seeing as how I'm not good at guessing, I'm going to guess anyway. Many of you are... Liberal. You know why I think that? Because I stereotype the guys that dig electronics into the label that all of you kinds of people are Liberal. It's not that I want to, because I don't. It's that I can't use any other kind of guess besides one based on stereotyping. Both Liberals and Conservatives do it. I'll admit that Conservatives are notorious for that, but Liberals do it just as much, and do it at an equal level, if not worse.

Put it this way. Whenever you watch CNN, NBC, or any other major non-FOX News Channel news outlet, you will undoubtedly face major bias in the media. The bias you see is Liberal propaganda intent on making the Republicans look like evil businessmen, who only care about the rich, disregard the poor, destroy wildlife, starve children, and favor segregation. Here's something to choke down. Remember the 2000 election? Pat Buchanan gets lots of air time, then the media minces his words around to make him sound like a racist hate-monger. Did you see them try to give Ralph Nader some air time? No. Why? For fear that Nader will "steal" the votes away from the Democrats and their beloved Algore. I'll say this right now, I don't watch the news too much because of the media bias. The most I'll watch are Rush Limbaugh, and that's only if I watch some of that Liberal bias on CNN as well, and Bill O'Rilley.

Hey, what do Republicans say about the Democrats and Liberals altogether? Well, not only are Liberals Green Peace tree-huggers, but they are Communist, Socialist, "kill-whitey" supporting atheists. Other than that, I don't know much, because the media is 97% Liberal, and all I hear about are the evil Republicans and their starving of 50 million people every second.

Although I haven't seen Loogaroo blatantly show his "Republicanistic" traits, BPZ has clearly shown his hatred of George W. Bush. And by the looks of it, his article on the 2000 election leads me to believe that he has been watching too much CNN. Hold on a minute... Let me get snipets of his article and disect it...

Yesterday Albert Gore had removed himslef from the presidential race of 2000. This left the only other major candidate (George W Bush) to accept to be the president of the United States. I said it once and I'll say it again, this is a dark day in American history. Why? I'll tell you why I'm displeased with 3 simple reasons.

I wouldn't go so far as say it's a dark day. 9-11 was a dark day. Pearl Harbor was a dark day. A president winning an election, in my book, is not considered a dark day. Unless, of course, Bush firebombed every church and killed every baby on his way towards the White House. Since that didn't happen, it's not a dark day. I'd like to say that on behalf of everyone affected directly by 9-11, Pearl Harbor, and the 2000 election, that I am sorry to everyone that's lost a loved on these tragic events. Seriously, except for the 2000 election thing.*

1) Not all the the votes where counted. The rest of the Florida votes are locked away in a safe. After the curts "nailed shut" the ballot boxes never to be opened again it leaves us to wonder, did the right man win?

Let's see... They recounted it a zillion times, and every time they did it, Bush won. Even if Bush lost, it doesn't matter. The thing known as the "Electoral College" determines who wins. Hey, during Nixon-McGovern, the popular votes were very close, but Nixon won the Electorals by a landslide. Remember that America is NOT A DEMOCRACY. It's a "Democratic Republic". That means the people elect representatives, and those representatives carry out the will of the people. For more on the history of government forms, check out your history books on the Greek Democracy and the Roman Republic. Both show pros and cons. Long story short, even if Gore won, Bush still won. End of story.

2) Bad will toward Gore's attempt to become the next president. All over my state people are commenting on how "bad" Al Gore is, Why? Only because he wanted to get a FAIR AND TRUE COUNT OF THE VOTES. I ask you what the L is wrong with that!?!!?

Uh, I made a comment on the last point, and it says it all. Just a little info, people comment on how Algore was wasting his time with the recounts because of one thing: it was a waste of time. It would not change the Electoral votes, and it wouldn't change who won.

3) Overall fraud in Florida's counting. In a comment by a fellow Gore supporter "We should've brought in supervisors from Canada to monitor the votes". We have both sides accusing each other of fraud why don't we do the count thing over again (A reason for those of you calling Gore an idot and crybaby to shut the L up).

Man, the only "fraud" was the fact that a bunch of old people in Florida could easily punch a dabber on their BINGO cards but weren't smart enough to punch a hole in a ballot. Besides, a vote for Buchanan is a vote for the FUTURE!!! Yay! That, and the Canadians couldn't count their teeth properly without losing one every five minutes, eh?

Point to Ponder: How can hand counting votes be unconstitutional if the constitution was made BEFORE the first computer???

It's not unconstitutional. However, how can hand counting votes be constitutional if all they did was recount them until Algore won? You know the minute they have Algore win by one vote they'd all jump and say "STOP! PROOF RIGHT HERE THAT GORE WON!"

Send me all the hate mail you want if you can't, won't, and are too lazy post something else putting down this article.

Okay. Check.

If Loogaroo made a similar article with a different viewpoint, tell me so I can capitalize on that.

It's over. The election is over. Bush won. All them Hollywood Libs that said they'd leave the country if Gore lost didn't leave. Bush ended up being a better president than was expected by the bias and garbage being spewed out. And calling him or any president the worst monster in history is like calling Hitler, Stalin, Mao, or Bin Laden "Man Of The Century".

As for me, I make fun of my own bias. Unless you're dense, I make stupid remarks that sound like Archie Bunker could have made them (God rest Carol O'Conner's soul) because I can. Grin and bare it.

NOTE: This might be the only serious article I write, unless otherwise noted.
*: BPZ's article precedes the September 11th incident, as I was being an ass. Don't take that as a serious.
